Feeling smug...
I am feeling a tad smug. Isn't that an interesting way to start a blog post? Yesterday was the second Sunday in the month and I successfully kept my promise to use it productively! Year before last I used an idea from a post on another blog and picked a day each month to work on Christmas gifts. By October I was all done and wrapped. It was a wonderful feeling. Why , oh why, did I not continue that into 2013? As I was scurrying around during this holiday season, I vowed to rectify that.
This year I am once again using the second Sunday of each month to work in my sewing room. This year I have broadened the focus from Christmas gifts to gifts in general.
The feeling of smugness comes from a successful Sunday. Yesterday I completed an IOU gift from Christmas past, completed and delivered a table runner for a neighbor and completed a sweet little pillowcase with trucks on it for next Christmas. That will be packaged with a book on trucks and placed in a dumptruck for a little boy for Christmas coming! (Insert a smug smile here). Completed is my new favorite word!
Off to stitch. I am on a roll!

I am hoping...that my ingrown toenail continues to improve. (I know. TMI!)

'Tis the Season of Gifting
I generally try to make many of my Christmas gifts and certainly enjoy trying to find the perfect gift to match the person I am gifting. This year my side of the family celebrated Thanksmas . I can reveal the gifts I worked on throughout the year!
This pillow sham was made from left over pieces of a Twister quilt that I made for my dear friend Vikki. A good book, cuppa coffee and the pellet stove will all help her get through the cold Maine winter as cuddles on the couch with her quilt and pillow!
Evidently I haven't uploaded the pictures of the other gifts but I will tell you that I made market bags for my sister and in law, a laundry bag and jewelry pouch for my niece, and a dozen pints of pickles for my soon to be son-in-law! My nephew got winter supplies including a fold up shovel for his car. Add some snack mix and an assortment of Maine made mustards along with gift cards and my brother and brother-in law were covered! Merry Thanksmas to all and to all a good night!

Snowman Hat
Second completion on this snowy day! I am making these sweet hats for some little gals I know. Truthfully, I have had this hat completed for awhile but I only just got around to adding the nose and eyes tonight!
